1,against.
first, not all judgements from an expert in a certain field are right, arbiters, such as aristotle, may also present false ideas.
second, ideas, judgements and advice, which promoted the developement of certain fields, are not scant in history. That is to say, judgements from non-experts can also enhance one field in some circumestances.
2,support
first, one's eye upon the world depends one's own experience and differs by different displines of separated subjects.when seeing a giant bridge,a engineer may start to consider its constitute and force bearing while an artist may be intoxicated by its grandiosity.
more over, the extent one cut into a subject is based the amount of knowledge one masters in that field.
3,one's interests is the most effective stimulus to learn and study.whithout interest, any subject being learnt should seems boring,in which we could achieve little, even, no advance.therefore, students should mainly studies depends on their own interests.
but certain studies of most important science are indispensable, such as math, which students majors art may not use it often, still works from time to time. For example, poeple majoring language also buy commodities like those majors others with money, and itt would be incredible to see they can't caculate the money should be cost. And science always benefits us in other ways.
In conclusion, although ingenial, students should call a balance between their interests and needs. |
