美国签证过期,往返加拿大得疑虑.

我的美国签证将于下周过期,由于gf在加拿大,我得经常去加拿大探望她.不知道版上有没有朋友碰到同样的问题.

学校的主页上有关于travel to canada的信息,如果我去加拿大旅行的话,我将可以得到Automatic Revalidation.("make a short trip (30 days or less) to another country in North America and return to the US without renewing your visa"),我想知道海关人员怎么知道我是short trip, less than 30 day. 每次进入加拿大海关都没有人给我盖戳,我回来的时候美国海关如何知道我在加拿大逗留的时间少于30天?另外,美国海关如何知道我在加拿大没有到其他国家去,是不是i-94未撕表示没有离境?

如果只携带i-20, passport和invalid visa就可以了,大家有没有受到海关人员的刁难?

现在就担心碰到不友善的海关人员刁难.

我担心你进不来加拿大。个人真实经历，供参考：

我GF在美国F1，她去年和我一起从国内去加拿大，打算玩几天之后再回美国。

她的F1 Visa到期日是2006年8月15日，所以回国之前，她续了新的Visa。

当时我们入境的时候是8月1日，海关人员检查她护照的时候翻到了旧的F1 Visa，说不能让她马上过关，因为美国的Visa马上就到期了。她又让他往后翻了几页，看到了新的签证，他才把我GF放过去。


PS：我对你说的每次过关都没有人给你盖戳非常感兴趣，你从哪里入关的？自己开车？灰狗？火车？还是飞机？谢谢回答

是不是因为你是从中国去的加拿大
如果从美国去加拿大 应该不会的吧

我也很想知道这个问题的答案，因为我准备九月去加拿大那边看大瀑布，但是我的签证8月1号已经过期了。我已经持有加拿大的签证，美国的I-94也没有过期，请问如果我只是去旅游，而且是30天内就回美国（其实就两三天啦），还能像以前一样re-enter without valid Visa么？

有一种说法，03年改了政策后，只是对去加拿大和墨西哥办理第三国签证的人有影响，规定他们必须有能即使在被拒签后回美国的有效签证；而对于纯粹旅游者，30天仍然可以凭有效I－94和失效签证回美国。不知道这个说法是否准确。

请有经验或者了解相关法律条款的朋友指教，谢谢！

Yes, in most cases. You can usually revalidate an expired visaautomatically when returning from a visit of less than thirty days to Canada,Mexico, or one of the islands adjacentto the United States (other than Cuba) provided that you have a valid SEVISForm I-20 and a valid unexpired Form I-94. This process is known as automaticvisa revalidation.

However, if you meet any one of following criteria, youwill not be able to automatically revalidate your visa.

• You applied     for a new visa and it has not been issued
• You applied     for a new visa and were denied
• You have a     terminated SEVIS record indicating that you are out of status
• You have been     out the United States     for more than thirty days
• You are a     citizen of one of the following countries:
