writing(A or B):
Should governments spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments spend more money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.
Governments always spend much money to improve the transportation fundamental equipments annual, but which aspect should be appropriate more fund, the roads and highways or public transportation such as buses, trains, or subways? Considering the economic, public safety, as well as environment, I prefer the later one.
To begin with, adding the number of people movers could assuage the high pressure of public transport. In most cities, the main reasons beset the ones who use the public vehicles are crowding and long waiting time. In my hometown, if you want to take a bus in the rush time, you have to queue in the station in such a long line that sometimes can be more than fifty meters! Although you have enough patience and ignore the waiting time more than three quarters, you still cannot get into the bus without pushing yourself by all your strength. Hereby, for improving social welfare government should appropriate more money to public transportation.
Next, the safety problem in public transportation is also a burning question. Many thieves prefer to steal in the public vehicles because of crowding and incomplete alarming system. Only a month ago, my friend lost her mobile phone and purse in a bus. As she memory, it was so swelter and crowded in the bus, and all her concentration focused on keep balance and when could get off while ignoring to look after her stuff. All the people around her faced the same situation, so no one picked up the process of the crime. When she was aware of that the thief cannot be found yet. Just image that, if there were more buses to partake the passengers and some advanced alarming apparatus such as anti-stolen monitors were set, the crime rate on buses will decrease obviously.
Last but not least, laying out to public transportation is much more environmental friendly than to roads and highways. As common sense, gas exhausted by cars has a variety of injurant. Building higher quality roads and highways will lead increasing of the amount of cars, especially the private cars which, definitely, will bring more exhausted gas to destroy the environment. However, ameliorating the qualities of the buses, trains and subways is totally different. If most people attract by the safety and convenient public transportations and choose them as the most commonly used vehicles, the air in the city will become fresher that would benefit everyone who lives in it.
speaking(1月6号机经):
which kind of magazines do you prefer to read, novels, poetrys, or......
My favorite magazine named “Chinese Cities Brochure”. It was founded in 2000 and is published every 2 months. The main content of this magazine conclude the culture, history as well as landscapes of most cities in China. It is a good compass for the traveling fans. The article left me deepest impression is about Lingyin Monastery which locates in Hangzhou. It is a famous monastery with more than 1600 years history. As the article mentioned, things which were blessed by the monks of the monastery will bring good luck to the owner. So last month, when I traveled there, I bought an amulet as a souvenir and hope that it could bring me good fortune.
do you prefer to live with roomates or you prefer to live by youself?
Basically, I welcome to live with a roommate. Firstly, living with others could assuage my economical load. We could share the rent of the department and the other expenses.
Secondly, a good roommate could bring me much help in my study, especially for the homework that needs group discussing. We can get more information and new ideas from
each other. Finally, although we will lose some private spaces for living with a roommate, we could learn more about how to get along with the others and that will be helpful to
our future research and work.
