Should governmentsspend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments spendmore money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why?Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.

Some people think that governments should focus more on improvingthe roads and highways since private transportation has its own advantages suchas saving time and providing convenience for people. However, in my opinion, governments should spend more money on improving public transportation. This isthe best way to mitigate congested traffic, and reduce pollution.

People always complain about the heavily traffic. However, does anybody notice that it's not because of the roads are not wide enough,it's because there are too many cars in the roads. No matter how large theroads are, there still have traffic jams. For example, if everybody drives his/herown car work, thousands cars are on the road, what happens? Traffic jam! Butlet's see, what if we go to work by public transportation such has buses, trains, or subways? A bus can carry up to 30 people, a train or a subway cancontain more than 1000 passengers. Obviously there are not too many vehicles on the road. If governmentscan invest more money on public transportation, like increasing the number ofbuses during the rush hours, and speeding up the trains, the traffic congestionmay decrease a lot.

Besides reducing the heavy traffic, there is no doubt thatimproving public transportation will alleviate the pollution given off by cars.If a big city does not have a good public transportation system, the air willbe polluted more heavily. The exhaust gas pulled out by numerous cars isdamaging our health. Governments have to do something to protect theenvironment. One thing is improving the public transportation, which willdecrease the number of cars in use.

We  know the naturalresources on our planet is not infinite. We don't have the right to use all theresources by ourselves, which means we have to preserve energy for ourchildren. The best way to save energy in big cities is using publictransportation instead of buying two or three cars for each family.

Based on what I have discussed, I think that governmentsshould spend money on improving public transportation. Not only can it helpreduce traffic congestion, but it can also give back a clean earth to us, andpreserve natural resources for our children.

People always complain about the
heavily (heavy) traffic. However, does anybody notice that it's not because (去掉of) the roads are not wide enough, it's because there are too many cars in (on) the roads. No matter how large the roads are, there still have (there still are) traffic jams. For example, if everybody drives his/her own car (增加to) work, thousands cars are on the road, what happens? Traffic jam! But let's see, what if we go to work by public transportation such has buses, trains, or subways? A bus can carry up to 30 people, a train or a subway can contain more than 1000 passengers. Obviously there are not too many vehicles on the road. If governments can invest more money on (invest in) public transportation, like increasing the number of buses during the(可以去掉) rush hours, and speeding up the trains, the traffic congestion may decrease(may be relieved) a lot.(感觉此段应直接点明主题句public transportation 可以缓解交通压力然后在论述为什么能缓解我感觉这样比较好一些,个人意见,仅供参考)

(去掉Besides reducing the heavy traffic)(直接用in addition), there is no doubt that improving public transportation will alleviate the pollution given off by cars. If a big city does not have a good public transportation system, the air will be polluted more heavily. The exhaust gas (pulled out不确定) by numerous cars is damaging our health. Governments have to do something to protect the environment. One thing is improving the public transportation, which will decrease the number of cars in use.

We know the natural resources on our planet
is (are) not infinite. We don't have the right to use all the resources by ourselves, which means we have to preserve energy for our children. The best way to save energy in big cities is using public transportation instead of buying two or three cars for each family.本段用natural resources 作致鄣阋部梢裕??蔷醯寐劬莶皇呛芎鲜?/font>,还是从如果更多的人使用public transportation可以节约能源论述比较好,涉及children 感觉说的太远了。)

Based on what I have discussed, I think that governments should spend money on improving public transportation. Not only can it help reduce traffic congestion, but it can also give back a clean earth to us, and preserve natural resources for our children.

以上仅是各人意见,仅供参考,不妥这处,还请蓝山兄谅解!
