Should governments spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments spend more money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.

Some people hold the opinions that governments should spent more money on advancement of roads and highways, while others thinks that more money should be spent on improving public transportation such as buses, trains, subways. As far as I am concerned, more money should be invested in the enhancement of roads and highways to boost the progresses of local economy.

It is not overstated that roads and highways are the artery of national economy with the advantage in transportation of goods as well as people. Especially in country which has capacious domain, transports on roads and highways is more quick than by boat, while is more cheap than by plane. So it is main way for most of country to transport. To this content, money from governments should be spent on improving roads and highways. For example, in China, people lived in mountains or countryside have bad roads or not highways, so it is difficult for them to transport their goods and special productions to outside markets for sale, and which has become one major factor impeding their development of economy. Thus in order to boom national economy, especial remote regions and countryside, governments should spend more money on improving roads and highways.

In addition, development of roads and highways also add communication between different areas as well as increase the speed of transportation which are important in trade. In past, because of lack in roads or highways, people in different places could not visit frequently. And it would take you one or more month if you wanted to fall on some friends who lived far places from your. Moreover, since bad conditions of roads and highways, production can not be transported from one place to another, which is disadvantage for development of modern trade. For example, people want to supply their fresh vegetable to their customers. If the time for transportation takes long time, the fresh will lost that will reduce their profits. Another example is compelling. When people get emergent ill and need to see doctors, the time of transportation will be very important in this case. So improvement of roads and highways can save more time in transportation which can save someone live.

In sum, I think government should spend more money on enhancing roads and highways in order boost national as well as local economy. In addition, improvement of roads and highways can add the communication between different places and save the time in transportation which are important in modern trade and other aspects.
