Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All students should be required to study art and music in secondary school. Use specific reasons to support your answer
I think let all students take art and music courses in secondary school is a good idea. Students can find beauty and imagination in art and music, so they may have a rest from the other subjects.
People relax when they enjoy music. As we known, it is efficient that people study in relaxation. We may find jolliness when we listen to Mozart, we may feel easiness when we listen to Schubert. When I get tired with my homework, I used to listening music which really makes me ease. And then I can concentrate in my study. Also when Sherlock Holmes thought cases, he played violin. So I think it is good for students if they learn something about music.
Art brings us visual enjoyment and new angle of view. Artists always have unique view about this world we live in. They paint nature, people, and constructions with their own understanding of these creatures. When we see a painting, we may find something different from our ordinary thought. For example, we find out the true color of the fog of London from Monet’s painting. We pay more attention to this world and find more interesting or beautiful things that make our live colorful.
Since our studies, works and lives take advantages of music and art, I think the requirement that let students study art and music in secondary school is reasonable. These courses may improve students’ culture of aesthetics and help them to find their interests as well. Moreover, art and music are rich in imagination and abstract thought. When we enjoy them, our imagination comes along which is a good activity of brain. So that students obtain both rejoicing and training of their brains. As time goes by, they can be more intelligence.
Above all, I prefer to let students have courses of art and music in secondary school. These courses are good for their study and lives. They don’t have to study English or solve mathematical problems all the time. |
