To a child, the parents are the first and important teachers. Also, the parents often exercise profound influence on the children. Thus, to be a good parent, one should be responsible, reliable and humorous.

First of all, to be a good parent, one should be responsible, which is the most essential quality of the parent. A parent should take the responsibility of bringing up the children. The parents are the important person to the children when they are very young. Parents should take care of children, feed them and give them family education. Also, as the guardians of the children, parents have the obligation to bring up the children, make them to contribute to the society.

Secondly, to be a good parent, one should have a sence of humor. To lead a happy life, laugh is indispensable, so is humorous. The family will become filled with laugh and appear joyful, which makes the family more productive. Furthermore, humor is the best tool to improve the tense atomsphere. Embarrassing situations are unavoidable in the
family. And a joke or some humorous words play a positive role in changing from angry to pleasure.

Last but not least, to be a good parent, one should be reliable. Children are still immature, and have a vague vision of their lives. At that time, parents are the significant helpers, whose dependness keep the children warm. As a result, children will ask for help from their parents or disccuss with the parents when they face the problems. Moreover, because of the reliability, children could get encouragement from their trusty suppporters-their parents. In a word, a reliable parent can get more trust from children, which helps a lot during the children's lives.
