In modern era, intensive video camera attracts people's eyes everyday, people trend to record life with video camera, such as martial testimoy, birthday testimony and so on. So some people predict that writtern will be replaced by video caera. I do not agree that perception.

In the first place, compared to video camera, writtern records can stimulate people's imgination much more. Adimmittedly, video camera use avarity  of media to express life, such as sound, image, letters, so it looks more vivid, which is its advantage, however, that is just his shortcoming. Enjoying video media continuously, audience gradually become idle in thought, would not like make full use of their imagination. On the contary, written record which involves letters only can stimulate people's imagination. when people read writen record such as their diary writtern in children or letters from their fried, they can not help to envision the vivid condition at that time, even the feeling of their own. Similarly, when people comepose written records, they have to recall the activities the would like to record in the papers. No wether composing written record or reading pritten record, will cultivate people to a thoughtful one.
In the second place, video has a inherent defect, which make them doomed to fail replace weitten record. If only we bring along vidio establishment , can we recording activities via them. However, nobody will bring along video establishment all day, so some activity happened causally can not be recorded. For example, when somebody walk in the street, he meet a attractive laydy on accasion,  and want to record the lady by video , however, he left it at home, of cause, video can not work. However, he can compose a diary or paint a paining to record the beauty of the lady. For that matter, witten is irreplacable by video .
Last but not the last, it seems tempting to agree the author's viewpoint auuming that video  is cheap enough for majority of public. However, video is still too expensive, especially to the people in developing countries. However, the written record is cheap enough to be used widespreadly.

To sum up, although video is more vivid than written record, however, they has some inherent defect which make them inpossible to replace written record. nevetheless, as the development of technich, video will become more and more plasible, simultaneously, their cost will decline continuously. besides, as the development of economy, people will become more and more rich, I believe, video record will be used more and more.
