There is a discussion that whether thesalary of a teacher should depend on how much his student learns. I concedethat the education result is very important. However, there may be many otherfactors influencing the salary of a teacher.

Admittedly, it may be unfair not to referto the teaching result. Someone may think that the teachers are paid by thegovernment directly so they have to be paid equally. However, this arguer failsto foresee the result. If it does so, the teachers may not be inspired and as aresult they would only teach their students within the permitted limit which isnot sufficient for these students to succeed. At the same time, the teacherswho have paid a great deal of energy to teaching would be discouraged. Someother may say that the salary may be according to the rank of the teachers. Inthis case, however, some teachers with a higher rank will not try to teach wellsince they have already been given good salaries.

On the other hand, when considering howmuch the salary should be, one must also think about other environmentalfactors. For example, if in a school the learning abilities of students indifferent classes are different, we should not agree with the statement of thespeaker since it maybe possibility that some teachers pay a great energy toteaching poor-graded students while some others may spend a comfortable inteaching relatively intelligent ones. Obviously the former teachers may gainlittle and the latter have a happy time. Can we then conclude that the formersshould be paid well? Besides, the material's difficulty when different classesare taught differently and the size of the class should also be taken infoconsideration since these factors is very critical for the teachers.

Moreover, the statement also can lead theteachers only focusing on the study. Education takes up many fields besidesintelligence education. For example, the moral and the health should also beconsidered. Otherwise, if the salaries only are related to the intelligentresult, the students may do harm in the future.

In the final analysis, though the learningis very important, we should not ignore other factors and focus solely on thestudying without other fields.
