Common sense tells us that we can try our best to do something which we are really interested in, while we can easily to give up something which we are not interested in. When it comes to education, I strongly agree with the statement of the speaker that education will be really effective when it pays special attention to students' interests and needs. However, we must concede that it is impossible to meet every student' interest. Interest is the best teacher in our life. The purpose of education is to provide all kinds of useful people to the society who can attribute their abilities to the society. If education does not pay attention to the interest of the student, which can not enable the each person to develop his talent and do his best in the society. In addition, some genius may be buried because of the inattention of the students' interests in the education. For instance, many invertors and many arts may be lost when the scores is the only goal in the schools. It is harmful for the development of the society and it violates the aim of education. Consider the students' interests, an important aspect which should be exploited by the education. Some students may not find their really interests, so education institutions should take effective measures to help students to find their interest, such as increasing the scholarship systems, establishment of interest teams and leagues, and provide elective classes to students. When students find their interests and require the help, teachers should encourage the students discover their interests and develop their interests. For instance, the colleges should give chance to students for change their direction. However, it is impossible for meet every individual needs and interests. Firstly, the number of the teachers is limited, whereas the number of students is large. The difference between the numbers decide that it is hard to satisfy every student. Secondly, some students do not have enough ability to decide their interests. If they are not interested in mathematics, it does not means they do not need to study mathematics. In addition, the student' interest can change in the different periods. Take into accounts to the discussions above, we can draw an conclusion that education should pay attention to the students' interests, and it can make education more effective and it fits the purpose of education, but it is impossible to meet every student's need. In final analysis, in order to make education more effective, it is necessary for education to pay attention to the students' interests and take effective measures to guide and encourage student to find their interests. |
