With the development of human culture,it is generally accepted that many famous people's achievements are recognized and praised by people who live after them instead of their contemporaries.
    Due to some historic and episodic imitations,the greatness of individual fail to be found by their contemporaries.Let's take Van Gogh for example.His incomparable talent is surprised by us and his inpressionism picture has been recognised as worthless art nowadays.However,he lead a miserable life during his time.No one was willing to buy his picture for they are not able to realize the worth of his inpressionism artwork,which made him poor and extremly pessimistic.Sometimes he even can't afford his next meal.The world's greatest aritst finally died sorrowly and sadly.The main reason why Van Gogh fail to be accepted by his contempories is that inpressionism as a faction was not founded during that time,and his picture is too advanced for the majority of his coevals to enjoy.
     By comparison,later generations are able to make a more sober recognition on things as the progression and improvement of culture a society make.People begin to pay attention to some new and strange things they thought before,and become more aware of their values.This could also happens in the science field.Copernicus created heliocentric theory many centuries ago,at the time when astronomy were not well developed and people's mind are controlled tightly by church..It turns out naturally that Copernicus were frightened by the power of the church,and failed to published his ideas untill he died.And his theory is proven right by later generations and make lots of contribution to the world.The example is used to point out that the value of a kind of theory or creation can be judged objectively and properly by later generations as science and culture are better developed.
     Meanwhile,we should also be aware that there are many achievements can be well appreciated by contemporaries.Like Franklin Roosevelt,The 32nd President of the United States. His administration was marked by relief programs, measures to increase employment and assist industrial and agricultural recovery from the Depression, and World War II.What he did has contributed a lot to the United States,and he becomed a most respeceted president elected by American people. He was the only U.S. President to be reelected three times.Consiquently,not all the greatness of individuals are underestimited by their contemporaries,the greatness which can produce an obviously favorable effect on our society still can be realized by their time.
       From what has been disscussed above,we could safely draw a conclusion that there are indeed some achievements  fail to be judged correctly by contemporaries,and they need to be decided by those who live after them.Meanwhile,the phenomineon that many great achievements accepted by contemporaries exists as well.We should be more objective to look on this conclusion。
