A recent survey indicates that there are 3,245 scandals  related with  government officials in the past 2007 year in China, who ruined the government as much as 8,000,000,000 RMB. These scandals have caused  the social attention on officials, who have long been neglected. Therefore, these scandals might bring several positive effects, among which they supply us ways, which no speaker or reformer ever could, to focus our attentions on problems.

To begin with, scandals can trigger us to pay attentions to problems. At the end of every year, whether in governments, schools or companies, conclusions of the whole year are seldom neglected. Achievements, progresses, and glories suddenly rush into people's minds. Actually, behind those surprising statistical data, many problems or even dangerous exit. How to discover these problems? Scandals may suggest hints. In the 2000 Sdyney Olympics, Jones, an American race player often called flying woman, won 4 medals at all. Not to mention how many glories, attentions and how much money she attained after the olympiads, she even got an chance to have a face-to-face talk with President Bush. However, not until the summer of 2007 were Jones' unprofessional and unmoral secret  uncovered through scandals uncovered by reporters. During that Olypiads, she taken cordials nearly  before every final match. If there were all praises but seldom scandals, young athletic still place Jones as their fetish, the players taking games together with Jones still bear unfair results and the moral education to players is still not payed attention to. As a result, scandals indeed help the whole society focus on problems.

What's more, scandals can focus on problems often neglected by the public. Why women are never admitted by some companies? Why some printing factories are never forbidden pouring dirty water directly into the river? Why some fast food stores never supply the invoices forwardly? People have felt used to the fact that mapping or constructing companies  refuse to admit women; since people seldom directly use river water, they don't care about the dirty river; as people just want to save time, they unconsciously conceive McDonalds or KFC to evade taxes. At this time, scandals can help uncover and correct those inappropriate behaviour. As soon as the newspaper compared the numbers of women staffs with those of men staffs, those companies felt the pressure from the society and had no excuses to refuse female appliers; not long after the pictures of dirty rivers were publicized on websites, those factories had to improve their faculties to deal with dirty water; ever since TV  reporters records the whole process how fast food was sold with DV, those stores began to offer invoices forwardly.  Therefore, those uncovered facts often ignored were disclosed through scandals.  

Nevertheless, scandals sometimes are incorrect or even untrue. Not only do reports make up stories about some big names, but also some stars cook up scandals of themselves to attract attentions. To illustrate, Lucy Bosworth，an Hollywood female star, some stars divorced only a week after she married. What's more surprising, she married again one week later and at last divorced again. Before that period, her name had never been seen on the headline of entertainment version for more than a year. Though those scandals she directed herself, she won focus again. Hence, we also should see scandals critically and recognize them clearly, for they are not always helpful.

In sum, judging from the reason that scandals can trigger us to pay attentions to problems, as well as can focus on problems often neglected by the public, we can safely concluded that scandals, whether in politics, academic, or other area, can be useful.
