The speaker claims that whether in politics, academia, or other areas-can be useful, and the focus our attentions on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could. Is it really? In my part of opinion, I fundamentally agree with the assertion, however, the final judge should depend on the case-by-case analysis, and in my observation the most important thing we should do is strike a balance between the scandals and the correct recognition to the relative problems(to the influences bring with scandals).

The first has to do with the scandal affection (influence)is in some different realms of politics, academia, and other like business. We can find different districts have different attitude and influences to the scandals.

When it comes to the politic scandals, may be in some degree, the scandals have the effective that can help us to recognize the real truth of the crisis event of politics, scandals in some aspects serve to revel larger problems that a community or society should address, and medias can remind the officials of government were supervised by citizens. For example, the WATER GATE(Water Gate) event, this scandal affects the president NIXON can not being the next America president. The scandal ruined the road of politic of(to) NIXON. From this point, the scandal can expose to public some truth and reveal the lies, even can urgent us concern  important social issues because there are relative with the life of us, in the mean time evoke us to focus on the pervasive social or political problems which we otherwise neglect perhaps the paradigmatic modern example as the WATERGATE (Water Gate)scandal as we have discussed above.

Moreover, in the realm of business, the scandals covered in the newspapers or magazines orreported in the news, act a role of supervisors to the business men, make the business men have the sense that whatever they provide for consumers or customers, the products which they operate can not hurt (harmful to) the health and benefit of the people who buy their products, and can not ruin the environment to society. People will support the straightforward businessman if the businessman's firm or corporation and its products qualified, but, if they provide fake products and get benefit from these fake products, and even have bad influence to consumers, the scandals would be useful to people to rejection the fake products and critic the greedy business men . Scandals stimulate and urge businessman support true products for us and at the same time also useful to the society. In this aspect  scandals is a positive and active factor to resolve some society problems.

Further more, in the realm of academic, academic plagiarism growing, more and more scandals have happened in some universities or institutes. Scandals have relative with the forgery and plagiarism papers processing by some professors as pursuit the fame and fortune, however, these fake papers will be discovered by real author or other scientists at last, of courese, it would change into a scandal and ruin the future and career of professors . Thus sometimes scandals can warn and remind the people who want plagiarism other people's articles and papers ,the result of despised and sconed by others would  make them seriously consider the result befor them really plagiarism other works.  
                                 
However, we can not deny the fact that if we concerning too much on the detail scandals like the privacy of movie stars or some other secrets about our neighbors that is not good to the harmony among communities. Comparing with the KOSOVO crisis, our social-security crisis, and health-care reform, this scandal is not as vital as we thought, it is name just a few. So we should serious concerning what the scandals that worth our attentions. After all, scandals is only one aspect to reflect the truth about the society, we can not depend the scandal to develop our societies totally.

In sum, I agree with the assertion that the scandals often serve to flag important socio-political problems . However, whether a scandal works more benefit than harm to a community or society still need our deeply research and we should do our best effort to strike a balance between the influence of scandal to society and the benefits of bring with the scandals.
