The speaker indicates that tourism will soon become obsolete because the prevalence of television and worldwide computer connection. However, in my view the statement goes too far, by taking the existence and prosperity of tourism into account. Nowadays, the purposes of tour are varied case to case according to the distinct needs from individuals.

Admittedly, televisions and worldwide computer internet benefit our recently lives significantly from some aspects. We know the whole world and share the experience from others much more via television and internet. Individuals are tied to the routine life such as school study, work and so forth. Considering that, most of them might not have enough time to have a tour. Also, as common sense tourism consumes money，which is not affordable for everyone. So, television and worldwide computer connection may be a good choice that provides us convenience, beautiful scene like Egypt pyramid, Hawaii amazing beach and so on. We can enjoy a great many places around the world through this kind of media without traipsing which calls for time, energy and money.

However, television and computer connection would never give us any sensory experience. Consequently, the highlight of tourism will not be abrased even though only from this aspect. The answer is obvious when one was asked to choose enjoy some videos or a true tour among many famous places if he has sufficient supply. Why the tour still attracts our attention even after the appearance of high-tech media? Because the experience appreciated by the people which would never come true just through some modern media. Take The Great Wall as an example, the delight is enormous when the one climbed up it, as a saying goes like that never has been to the Great Wall, never will be a bawcock. It is easy for us to enjoy the snack, the beautiful local scene and the tradition that different from our routine life when we experience a true tour.

Additional, in my opinion, the tourism will be stimulated by the television and worldwide computer connections rather than be obsolete. The more reasonable conclusion is that television and internet have actually served to spark our interest in visiting other places. Less information make us confusing when choose a place to have a vacation, but modern media make it easier to access many places and help us to get a suitable one. Besides offering information on the key point of interests, modern media benefits us much more convenience like booking hotel and airport ticket to make （没有a）prearrangement. Forasmuch the factors discussed above, the tourism will prevail rather than obsolete by the spurring of modern media.

To put all in a nutshell, the speaker’s assertion is problematic. Although it is true that television and worldwide computer connections make people become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited, whereas tourism does not become obsolete as a result, instead, I think that it stimulated the development of tourism considering the aspects mentioned above.
