: S  ], e+ J; x3 u" Q( g8 T4 CApplying for the XX Summer High School Program is a big decision for me because the program will take up the whole summer of my junior year. However, I made up my mind and I will not spend the summer meaninglessly-it would be one of the most unforgettable summers in my life.

Most important of all, I can meet friends from different countries in XX. Currently, I have many friends and I love them, all of them. To me, friends are not only the numbers on the facebook, but people who can share my feeling with. I am a junior high in a Chinese high school, and in XX, there will be loads of international students just like me, and we will certainly be friends because of our similar background. With these people from different parts of the world, I can improve myself a lot. I will have the access to many cultures from all over the world and meet people of all races. I can discover their own merits, find out how they communicate with others and how they cooperate to achieve higher efficiency. One can never fully understand his/her own culture until he/she has compared it with another.

7 {- ]  ^" ], SAlso, I am considering to attending one of the American universities in the future. Many of my older peers constantly told me that in the States, there was the best college education in the world. I am fond of XX because of the atmosphere in it. I think that it would be an excellent idea to go and see the college myself, and perhaps meet the professors that teach the courses I am interested in. By doing this, I can find out how good the programs in XX are, and if it is worthwhile to move across the world for.

8 Z7 N! ]3 B7 y0 _, Z  X; ?Plus, there are some courses that are not available here in China. For instance, the economy courses. I have been interested in economy since my cousin went to Hong Kong to study economy and I read many books about it. I want to work in the Wall Street one day. However, it is always better to have an instructor, and XX gave me the chance to have a professor on economy. And XX has one of the best economy courses among all the universities in the States.

Last but not least, program in XX gave me the chance to improve my English. Though I have got XXX in my TOEFL test, I am still no satisfied with my accent. Living in XX for a whole summer will help me a lot, especially on my writing and speaking. By taking professors' classes, having seminars and hanging out with friends, there will be an enormous jump of my English.

XX is one of the top universities in the States and I believe it will teach me how to think, feel and work. I can achieve a lot from the summer in XX－International friendship, a taste of college life, courses that are not available in China, and a practice of my English.
