I extremely agree with the speaker that government should preserve the areas where are remote and wild. Maybe some people would claim that these places serve as inhibitors in the development of the country and the society. However, in taking various factors into consideration, government should not just focusing on the profits which are brought by metropolitans. Preserving the wilderness areas is essential.

To begin with, some wild places in the country own affluent natural resource which are useful and can benefit the development of the society a lot, though they can hardly be visited by most people. Take the rain forests as example, although few of us can get their, people have been developing them into great use. The various kinds of wood are perfect materials in making furniture and luxurious instruments, such as piano, violin, guitar, and the like. There are great many kinds of species there. No one will deny that they are essential resource of science researching and they are also important members of the earth which need our protection. Moreover, the rain forest are believed with a function of improve the climate, since some scientists claimed that they are lungs of the earth.

Secondly, even though some of the wilderness areas are not useful to our human beings at present, we should not draw a hasty conclusion that they can not facilitate our generations' lives. Almost everything which is recognized useless are because our finite knowledge of nature and our restriction of technologies. Yet we should be confident that our generations would make full use of these wilderness areas. For example, nowadays, we are worrying about the expanding desert while it is considered not useful but harm. However, with the development of the technology of solar energy, it is strongly possible that the full solar resource could be developed decades later and in this circumstance, it would resolve the trouble of the lace of energy. What is more, it is certainly possible that our generations can stop the expanding tendency.

Last but not least, the most essential reason why government should preserve these areas is that government has responsibility to do so. There is no doubt that once the remote and inaccessible places belong to the country, the government should preserve them just like what it treats with other cities. If the government does not take its responsibility, then who should be required to preserve these places? Even normal people are educated that they should afford their certain responsibility, let alone the government, since to some extent it serves as a model to public.

In sum, even though the wilderness areas are hard to access and are considered that they would inhibit the society's development by some people, the government is inevitably required to preserve them not only at present but also in future.
