TOPIC: ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

I am of the opinion that the destiny of society is determined by weather children could well socialize. However, as far as my knowledge is concerned, our society’s education for children today has made a great contribution to help the children to bring about a better society.

First of all, there is no doubt that how children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. It is very essential for children to learn the skill to adapt and enter the society successfully, which will accelerate the progress of social development. For example, many famous presidents managed the socialization skill well, which give them enormous help for the process of presidential campaign. And when they become the chairman of the country, they can make great effort to bring about a better society through their capability and wisdom. It is warranted to claim that children's socialization ability is the destiny of society.

However, we could never overemphasize the society to socialize children because of socialization is not the only characteristic for children to learn. There are many skills for children to learn, such as cooperation, knowledge, friendly, honesty, etc which contribute a lot for them to become a helpful man. Moreover, a premature contact of the way of the world is likely to bring negative influence to the growth of the children deeply. Therefore, to socialize children call for a balance between socialization and the other characteristics that children should learn.

Furthermore, children development is guided by both deliberate and unintended learning experiences in the home, peer group, school, and community. Obviously, our society is progressing regularly as we see today, that is to say, the parents, teachers, and others have made a great effort to socialize children. And, to my mind, there is no fixed standard to measure whether the childhood growth is shaped properly by them. So the author can not simply draw the conclusion that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.

To sum up, children’s socialization can bring about a better society, yet, it cannot be overemphasized. Moreover, every member of the society should give a hand to this process.
