    The statement mentions the function of video camera and concludes that it has become a documentation which is superior to those written ones. There is no doubt that the invention of video camera has brought us to a brand-new world full of passion and imagination. More and more people use this small machine to record scenes in their lives and other important events around the world. And the data preserved by us in films or digital forms are increasing with a soaring speed. But, in my point of view, even though it has revealed the importance of video camera nowadays, the statement is wrong to conclude that the records of video camera has become more important than those written ones. I will discuss the positive and negative views about the statement respectively.
    To begin with, as has been discussed in my first paragraph, the invention of video camera is a vital event to our history. Much more events have been recorded and preserved and become video data which can not be recorded by written records.  For example, reporters use there video camera to record some important events of our society. And these records can be put out in television in the form of news reports to the normal individuals. Without video cameras, these diligent reporters can not provide lively reports to us. Sometimes, people can use the records of video camera to solve some enigamas. Police officers can use the records of those video cameras in some public areas, for example, banks, to see the actions of criminals in order to reveal the characteristics of those criminals. And sometimes, the records of video camera will be a permanent memory for us to review some important scenes of our lives or other important events. A father can use video camera to record the process of growing up of his child. Astronomists can record the scene in which an astronaut stepped down his first foot on the surface of the moon. Thus, we can see that video camera has helped us record many useful and previous data from around the world.
    But, we can not tell which of the two form of records, the video records or the written ones, are more important than the other. We can make this conclusion from the support of a few reasons. First, the preservation of video records cost much more money and space than written records. For example, we all know that video data can take much more memory than pure text data in the memory of a computer. Second, the review of those documentations preserved by video camera needs some devices, for example, projectors or DVD players, which can cost much more money than the review of written records. Sometimes, those people who are in negative financial condition can not afford these relatively more expensive devices than just some small books. Third, for the reason of convenience, the review of written records is much more convenient for us. A scholar can find the information he wants from a library with the infromation sea recorded by written documents conveniently. Besides this reasons, we can make more examples to show that sometimes written records are more important than video ones.
    The documentations of video camera can not substitute written ones forever. The only way to get more information is to use them respectively in proper situations. Given the discussion above, the statement reveals the importance of video camera, which is reasonable, for us. But it is wrong to presents that documentations of video camera is more important than those written ones.
