of status from an F-2 dependent to an F-1 student status. Mrs. Ruan came to  
the US with her husband, Mr. XXX, who is a doctoral student at XXX university  
and a candidate for a PhD in XXX. Mrs. XX has been accepted to XXX  
University's Schoolf of xxx for a Master's program in xxxx. She is requesting  
a change of status so that she may take advantage of the benefits available to

F-1 students. Please see the attached bank statement that indicates she has  
funds sufficient to support herself for tuition and living expenses during
