issue 130 "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

When asked about whether children are socialized today determines the destiny of society and how to let children acquire enough knowledge to bring about a better society, people may find it hard to come to consensus due to their different experiences and conflicting values. The speaker thinks that we should put enough attention to children and how to teach them, in this way, our country can have a long time benefits. From my perspective, I agree with the speaker and not only children but also how to raise children should we take it seriously.

No one can defy that children determine the orientation of society because children's future are the future of our country. We should do our best to let children acquire enough knowledge and, in this way, our country may develop quickly. According to a recent survey conducted by the Sociology Department of Peking University among some groups of children in China, much better they are taught and more contributions they will make to our country. The result of the survey also indicates the children determine the orientation of society and our country's future depends on them. From this we know the importance of teaching children.

Unfortunately, today's school put too much emphasis on winning in whatever competitions and, in fact, we should encourage children to cooperate. In school, many teachers often encourage the students to win in any competition because they think competition is the most important. But, of course, we know the cooperation is becoming more and more important in our country, but we lack teach children about it. For example, the collapse of Enron, once the biggest energy firm in America. The former CEO of Enron adopted a performance evaluation program that employees evaluated his companions and were evaluated by others at the same time, then the final evaluation results would not only determine their bonus but also their destiny of promotions or unemployment. After this, all the companions became competitors and, of course, this eventually speeded up the collapse of Enron. Our country is akin to a firm and children are just like the employees, so we should take the ways in which we teach the children seriously.

Besides this, we should put much attention on TV, Internet, because we should realize the importance of the conditions which children live in. Many bad effects come from TV such as violence, sex. We should let this thing do their good sides and protect children. Jonathan Livingstone, president and CEO of MAT, a distinguished and well-known company in Massachusetts, illustrates this brilliantly in the following quotes (and I paragraph)," TV just like a two -slide sword and we should make good use of it." In this view, we know the condition about our children is also very important.

In sum, from what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that not only children but also how to raise children should we take it seriously and children can bring about a better society.
