The author claims that people place too much emphasis on individuals during the study of history. The author also claims that it is the groups of people but not the famous few who made the most significant events and trends in history. In my point of view, I tend to agree with the author that the historical events and trends were made possiblly by people, but we should not ignore the great advantages about putting our eyes on the famous ones during the study of history.In the first place, the reason why I have such a view is that people consist of the fundation of the entire human society. It is people's power which supports the real world running(这个用法没见过可以这么说吗？呵呵！) and makes our technology improving. We can say that the most significant trends in history are because of the most people's wishes（will会不会好些）, and the greatest changes of the society are to satisfy the most people's needs. Just like the famous Chinese political leader Chairman Mao said, "It is people who make history." We should not forget groups of people are the original sponsors and supporters for the events and trends in history.In addition, none of individuals can make the significant events possible without the help of some groups of people. Firstly, no one can live without the other people’s help, which is a practical reason. Secondly, individual needs to learn from people to improve his thoughts and abilities. The person who wants to make significant success has to study what people have made before. Newton has said, "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."（如果可以举一个从普通人而不是gaints身上学到的东西可能会更好哈！） Thirdly, the greatest events cannot be successful without the cooperation of the groups of people.（学要大众的帮助和学要和他们合作是不是有点重复呢？） The effective way for such significant events or trends is cooperating with the other persons with the similar wishes and thoughts because one's abilities are limited.（可以举个例子哈）On the other hand, placing our emphasis on those famous few can help us to study history because those historical individual can show us the general characters of people and of the society in their time periods. What the famous individuals thought may be the most possible things the common people love or hate. No one can think and make decisions beyond the time he lives.（可不可以再加句讲下，像这样我们也不能逃避为人的影响）Another benefit of spending time on the study of individuals is that the historical information of the famous ones can be easily found out. The records about the famous ones in history are certainly more than the general persons'. Therefore most of the files left are about those famous few, from which the scientists can easily find out some useful information.On balance, from what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that the most significant events and trends were made possible by the groups of people but not the famous few. Moreover, we should not overlook the benefits of placing emphasis on individuals, which（who） can help us to study the history.
