The artists make the masterpieces of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, architecture and so on, which are the gift from the forebear and valuable treasure of the society. While serving as the supplement of art, the critics give the analysis and evaluation about these works, which also contributes the development of art in some aspect.
The artists’ inspiration and creative works reflect the resplendent history of human beings. The masterpieces left by the virtuoso are so entrancing to us. We go to the museums around the world where are replete of masterpiece of the famous artist, such as the Louvre in Paris, the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. These are the representative of lasting value given to society. Moreover, spiritual values the artists created are also valuable to us. When we listen the music, read a novel, or watch a movie, the pleasure we enjoy and the life-meaning we meditate are spiritual aesthetic experience. Mozart makes the listener free frommundane; Beethoven’s music brings the inspiration, Chopin makes people melancholy.
Even through the critics are too harsh in critical analyzing the artworks, there still are the appreciable advice to take. However, the critics’ view to some extent help the artists retrospect themselves deeply to bring up creative sparks. Many composers of classical music were also notable writers on, and critics of music, including Hector Berlioz, Richard Wagner and Robert Schumann.Wagner made a major contribution to the principles and practice of conducting. His essay on conducting advanced the earlier work of Hector Berlioz and proposed that conducting was a means by which a musical work could be re-interpreted, rather than simply a mechanism for achieving orchestral unison.
In sum, it is the artist who gives society something of lasting value. Meanwhile the critic plays an advisory and complementary role in influencing the artist.
这篇写得想自杀了!!!
