Some people believe that human beings always confront with a large amount of things that they have to do, so choice is almost absent. However, others may consider that will the whole lives spend in choosing, which includes studying, and working. In my point of view, the arguer oversimplifies the issue of choice.

On one hand, in daily life, we must make various choices and decisions. For instance, when we graduates from a high school, we must face the matter that what we will do next. Some young persons may choose to seek a job opportunity to earn money. In contrast, most of them will choose to enter a university or college. Accordingly, they will make a series of choices, such as which university and city they like to study in; which major they prefer to learn. And a great many factors include that the reputation and location of university, competition pressure and job opportunity of major in the future, even the tuition and level of local consuming of studying in university should also be taken into account for making wise decisions. Then after graduated from university, we have to consider which profession we will choose pursue and so on. Therefore, we can say that choices exist in everywhere of our lives.

On the other hand, people have no free choice in some extent since they were born. Anyone can not determine his or her gender, parents, even family which he or she will grow in. In the influence of dominant society, few people can jump out of the big circle of human being’s growth and development. Thus, we have to track the similar, even the same orbit of life as our parents or grandparents. In most times, we have no choice to follow the general and widely accepted growth road. Just like our lives contain only several steps. The first one is learning knowledge in school; the second one is working to earn money; the third one is to construct family with lover and so on. In this point of view, we have no ability to change the solid life roads.

Although the lives leave us considerable unchangeable tracks, we can also try to alter and even improve our life environment and design new aims to accomplish our dreams. In this process, we can choose to study in a desirable school, learn a favorite speciality, and engage in an interested occupation. And these are choices.
