ISSUE70 - "In any profession-business, politics, education, government-those in power should step down after five years. The surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership."
Does the five years rotation revitalization through new leadership the surest way lead to success in professionals include business, politices, education and government? I concede revitalization through new leadership is one of path to political success, but it is not the necessary pathway for success of business and education affaires.
To begin with, revitalization through new leadership is one of important pathways to attain success especially in politics and government issues. New leaders not only bring up refreshed policies or principles to the specific area, but also the candidates and the campaign process would display more choice for publics, by which the publics could vote for the most appreciate candidates and their policies, the championship of this game could represent the desire of majority of society, in other words the coming up leaders might be more capable to represent the will of publics. And history informs us the more supporters the more achievements leaders acquired. Advocated by most populace President Abraham Lincoln with his “Emancipation Proclamation” suspended the Civil War is the example.(这个例子好象不太合适, 林肯续任两界呢, 请大家给点点子吧)
If politics and government do not experience revitalization in time rotation, the long term position domination of political leadership and government officials might stick to their individual principals and are accustomed to follow traditions to deal with problems that need new perspectives. More dangerously, were the leaders are informed they would not be challenged as they possess the authority, they are stand in a slippery slope toward monopoly in making decisions that are not accurate and even prohibit the development of the society.
In the other aspect, when issues came to business and education area, the refresh of leadership is not the indispensable pathway toward success, nor is it a surest one. In business area, the capability of leadership to combine individual intelligence and new knowledge and information talents to competing interests for themselves is more important. Economy magnate Warren E. Buffett and Bell Gatis has successfully dominated their business for without time limitation, and their economy empire has been greatly expanded as they work on leader’s position. No business person could confidently declaim they would probably get the same success were they give the opportunity to replace the two magnate. And were the two magnate are replaced, the whole world economy would be affect.
When concerning to education, to set a five years of revitalization of leadership is also not capable of comforting success. Since our education system is continuously refreshed as science and techniques are advanced as times goes by, professional areas of advancement could not all understand by the few leaders on education, instead what they need to do is to catch up with changes and advancement in these areas in order to offer confirmed new knowledge and techniques to students. The leaders in education areas are therefore required to possess experience of understanding how to popularization and dissemination advanced knowledge to populace, the five years rotation of leader ship would cost a lot of time for new leaders to understand the effective working procedures, and when five years revitalization has contribution little to accelerate the understanding process and accumulation experience.
In sum, the revitalization in new leadership is necessary in political and government ares for it prevent monopoly and could effectively sustain social development. Yet when it came to business and education area, the refreshing on leadership could not be defined as the surest way to success. |
