136. "The absence of choice is a circumstance that is very, very rare."

"I have no choices!”. That is a word we always heard from different people around us. Is it real that we may face the circumstances of absence of choice some day? Or it is, just like what the speaker asserts, is very, very rare?
As far as I concerned, I agree with the speaker's opinion, there are always some choice for us even in the extreme condition.
Before we start to talk about "the circumstance", that is which affect the choice we have, we must know the definition of "choice" first. What is "choice"? We are facing different kinds of choice in everyday of our lives. When you are at a bus station, whether taking a bus or a taxi to the destination is a choice; while at a supermarket, the variety of shampoo may give you a more multiple choice. However, these are the most ordinary choice we have. It is the significance of the outcome caused by the choice we made that really matters. For instance, the choice of universities, jobs, life-partners are much more complex and obviously much harder to make. Accordingly, there is no doubt that the "circumstances" which may bring a condition of "absence of choice" will always caused by the important events of lives.
When come to the extremes condition of one’s life, even some life and death problems, is there really commonly existing some kind of situation that "There is nothing else i can do, but......"? We can assume us as knight of middle age, the only one alive of our side when dozens of robbers are getting closer. What should we do now? Fight until dead or surrender. You may say "I Have no choices but to fight even dead!", No, you may surrender and beg for life, it is your dignity as a soldier and your spirit as a knight made you have the choice; we may assume us a criminal who has just sentenced to death, you may complain that "I have no choices but to dead!". No, you have your choice before you commit the crimes lead you to this situation; it is your own desire and lacking of self control made your choice. Therefore, there is unreasonable for one to claim that the "absence of choice" is usual thing unless the affection on you is compulsory and never have you had a chance to fight against.
Though, there are still rare conditions like the date of birth, the sex of birth (someone have chosen to change their sex, already), the background of your  family and something genetic that you cannot choose. However, besides the things cannot change, on most of the circumstances in your life, you have a great many choices, how to choose and what the outcome will be is all up to your own decision.

恩，觉得楼主阐述的很好，但就是字数好像没上500阿。不知道什么地方可以再加点就好了。思路很明确，除了一些特数情况外，总是有选择的，关键是看你怎么选。或许可以进一补阐述是什么导致人们没有选择，如因为尊严而没有选择，或者因为懦弱而没有选择，可以讨论一下不同的人选择的不同。
