题目1.事情越来越多,结果什么都干不好,你同意不同意. (2007.3.3,生活与个人成功类)

Recently, I always heard students complain about increasingly heavy burden from both study and life. They have to cope with more and more incidents, and some of them find the more tasks they deal with, the fewer satisfactory results they get. I have the same experience. Managing time scientifically is not an easy task for most people, especially when facing a lot of tasks simultaneously.

However, it is not the tasks but our poor arrangement of time that renders us low efficiency. After all, we do see some people with more tasks at hand than us still have time to enjoy themselves while accomplishing all their responsibilities. If we can find factors that hamper us from working efficiently and find remedies to those problems, it is not impossible that we can also enjoy a tea break in the afternoon by speeding up our working efficacy.

One factor resulting in low efficiency is psychological anxiety. If we are not able to finish previous work before new tasks come, the accumulated work load may easily cause anxiety, frustration, and low spirits which in turn, result in slower progress, leading the situation from bad to worse. Then why not take in fewer tasks at one time? As a popular saying goes, “Do not bite more than you can swallow.” Set a reasonable task load for a certain period of time, concentrate on it, finish the tasks before taking new ones. By doing in such a way, we sweep over bad psychological influences. When I was a junior in university, I took three elective courses, Visual Basic, History of European Literature, and An Introduction to Western Economics. The three elective courses turned out to be extremely difficult for me, because though I was interested in them, I was completely a layman without even fundamental knowledge about these subjects. After careful consideration, I gave up the course An Introduction to Western Economics, and concentrated on the study of the other two courses. It was a wise decision, I thought when I got two A.

Another factor resulting in low efficiency is the unability to focus attention. Many people, including me, are easily interrupted, thus unable to follow timetable. This bad habit should be eradicated. No matter how well we plan our time, if we cannot keep apace with arranged timetable, all the planning is just in vain.

In conclusion, the tasks themselves are not the causes of low efficiency. With a carefully designed work schedule as well as determination and persistence in carrying out the schedule, we can accomplish more tasks with shorter period of time.
