According to a recent statistic on the internet, the number of 75% people claimed that they thought the extended relatives are less essential than it was. It follows that parents or other adult relatives may likely pay more attention to their own family because of the limiting of time. Some people insist on making decision that the extended families are important, considering each of us  need some help in emergency. As far as I am considered, larger family benefit the family members in not only in troubles but also get more opportunities.

Any family members are not only your relatives but when you are unhappy or upset they may  also act as you friends. As you know each other well, you can ask for help when you are in emergency and feel less guilty. The instance is not rare, it is one of many examples I have encountered. My cousin who studies in the same city with me named GUQI, gave me a strong feeling of power when last week I was hurt by hot water and could not walk for nearly one week. She took good care of me and complained nothing. When I meet some troubles in getting well with other people, she always give me helpful advices, she said that we were family so she wished that she could give assistants to me.

And at the same time, the extended family gives you numerous opportunities. Suppose that you are doing a business with a stranger, you may have a remarkable variety of problems during communication than talking with a friend of yours. For example, my brother jack is working at a small scale company, everyday he dreams of having a chance to work at a big company so that he can learn more and meet more different kinds of people. During a family gathering, my uncle acknowledged his idea, so he introduced my brother to one of his friends who is working at IBM company as a manager. Because my brother met him before, so he felt relax and did a good job during interviewing.

Of course, the advantage of small family can not be ignored. Living with a small family they have a good deal of time to stay with their children and parents instead of attending a lot of family members’ parties and weddings and so forth.

Although there are some advantages of having a small family, the benefits of opportunities which a extended family can give out weight everything that a small family concerned. From what we discuss above, we can easily draw a conclusion it is better to have a extended family.
