Which one is better, serious movie or amusing movie?  People have various answers according to their preference.  In my opinion, serious movie is better for the reason thak it lets me  acquaint people and things out of my world, learn and think.
Serious movie alway deals with ethnic, religious and cultural themes, including conflict, clash and quarrel.  Nowadays most people live in relatively peaceful environments, therefore many of us do not know what does war mean and realize how precious peace is.  Serious movie, to some extent, brings us back to the old days and let us feel it in person, and therefore give people a lesson about those themes.  Schindler's List, for example, shows people the concentration camps where millions of innocent Polish Jews were killed in, these miserable Jews faced death almost every single day during the war.  Seeing movies like this impress people in a quite long time and let people remember the precious of peace.
Moreover, serious movie let people think about the meaing of life and what kind of attitude should we hold toward it.  For example, the scent of a woman, this is a movie about a young, innocent, scholar student and a old, blind, retired army officer, both of them face a big trouble in their lives.  At the end of the movie, two people help each other and get out of the misfortune.  The movie shows us a positive attitude toward difficulties and adversities and the never give up spirit.  In fact, lots of serious movies inspire us in various aspects of life, let us think, ultimately better attitude toward life derive from these sensation or from reflection.
In conclusion, serious movie plays an important role in our life, not only because it is a good form of entertainment and relaxation, but rather that it makes people think and learn.

总体而言，这篇作文还是不错的，尤其是两个例子用得不错，我都想不起这些电影的名字来，看来得背几个才行。不过，我感觉你的作文读起来还比较僵，用词、结构和句式都可以尝试努力丰富和多元一些。这样就能写成很好的作文了。
