9月9日 那个更好,serious movie 还是 amusing movie?(2007.3.23 ) Considering movies' largest function is to bring entertainment to movie goers, I like amusing movies better than serious movies. Amusing movies bring laugh, postive outlook as well as moral lessons occasionally to movies goers. The most important reason that I prefer amusing movies is that they are entertaining, bringing laugh to life. Modern society has put so much pressure on individuals, so we need to escape from tedious daily agenda by watching funny movies. As a part of entertainment industry, movies are supposed to relieve people from excessive anxieties and worries. After watching movies, we expect a refreshing mind and a good mood, so that we can go back to work or study with a positive mood, which leads to high efficiency. A example of my brother suffices to illustrate the creational function of amusing movies. My brother is pursuing PHD degree now. Two months ago, he found it so boring and distressful to spend all his time in lab making experiments that he wanted to quit the PHD program. One of his friends recomanded him to take a rest and watch some amusing movies before making such serious decision. The effect of this advice was quite telling. My brother has come back to lab after getting relaxation from watching amusing movies. In comparison to amusing movies, serious movies more often than not make people feel low. Serious movies expose the dark side of human nature and society, yet provide no answer to solve problems. It is very likely to give an bad impact to already gloomy viewers. Another factor that makes amusing movies more appealing is that we can learn some moral lessons in amusing movies. In China, Zhou Xingchi is considered counterpart of Kim Carrey of America. Most of young people of my age have watched amusing movies stared by Zhou. There is often a deeply rooted theme in these movies that no matter how humble we are at present, we have to keep faith and believe that one day we'll finally succeed. For example, in one movie, Zhou played the part of an actor. He wanted to be noticed and become famous. However, no matter how hard he had tried, there is no way for him to make dream come true. He didn't give up. Instead, he turned to open a school to train actors and actresses. Besides having fun in watching this movie, I also learn the lesson that we should keep trying and helping others. In sum, since amusing movies have at least two advantages over serious movies, as discussed above, I'd like to conclude that watching amusing movies is more beneficial for those who need a better mood. |
