Amusing movies not only show funny events to amuse people but also explore serious issues and teach people knowledge in different ways from serious movies. In this sense, amusing movies are more important for us commons.

To begin with, amusing movies make people laugh and relax, and relaxation is the best way for us to get rid of the stress resulting from a whole day heavy work. According to a report from the Health Department, human beings can gain numerous benefits from laugh. Also, A person who accumulated too much stress would be more vulnerable to diseases. Fortunately, amusing movies will help us to overcome our negative feelings and to keep healthy, while serious movies might reinforce those negative feelings.

Secondly, although amusing movies do not describe social problems in serious way, they still explore serious issues in our society, just in some ways different from serious movies. The most commonly used technique is satire. Charlie Chaplin, the master of silent film and the finest comedy actor, satirized many social problems in his time through his comedy products. Besides making us laugh, his productions, which include The Kid, The Gold Rush, and City Lights, also lead us to think about the serious issues in our society.

The last but not least, amusing movies also teach us information in a easier way than serious movies do. Some academic studies have proved that people always tend to remember things linked with joyful moment. For example, kids learn knowledge more rapidly by watching a cartoon or playing a game than by watching serious movies or joining a regular class. In addition, like serious movies, amusing movies also involve information about geology, history, culture, astronomy.... And do not forget, we can learn those subjects in a easier way.

In conclusion, as these advantages of amusing movies, I would like to point out that amusing movies are more appealing than serious movies for us to relax, to have a deep thinking, and to study.
