agree/disagree:university students should be required to take basic science classes even they are not part of the field of the study.
When I think about the knowledge and skills what I have got, I find most of them are resulted form various classes which I have learned in university. And to my surprise, some of classes do not relate to my major. Thus, from my point, I think it is very wise for students learning basic science classes even they are not part of the field of the study.(?)
Firstly, some basic science knowledge is necessary tool for students to learn their major. For example, the mathematics skills are important for one of my friend who learns painting. She has told me that the geometrical structure of certain object is a key element in their still life picture.
Moreover, the inter-communication between basic science knowledge have produced a great number of inter-disciplines, such as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) which is my major. These inter-disciplines bring great progress for present technological development. However, in order to continue thrive EMC, except mastering electric field, it is vital for us to command certain basic science knowledge such as physical content. In addition, the ideas or approaches from basic science could take new development for existed field. The most impressed example is that economic get surprised advancement after mathematics knowledge have been introduced in.
Furthermore, learning and using of the basic science could relax my nervous and add color for my daily life. My grandfather and I had ever placed flowers in his garden according to the figuration of spiral line. In the end, many neighbors were attracted to visit our garden for the unique form.
In short, I believe the learning of some basic science is necessary for students. Because the knowledge could become tools for certain major and motivate inter-disciplines improvement. In addition, applying of science knowledge could bring happy to my daily life.
