With the fast development of science and technology, many inventions have emgerged(emerged) to displace the traditional published books. It has long been put into qualm in deciding whether the published books will be disappare(disappear) in the next 20 years. Personally, I agree with such issue and I would like to explore several reasons for my choice.
The first reason is that nowadays, people could get information from many other kinds of media such as computer rather than from reading books. As we all know, we can get plenty information include the content of a popular book from the Internet. In other words, if we have a computer, we can down load the content of the books we want anytime we like. What is more, sometimes the information is free which means we can save money by using computer to read the books. In short, new technology benefits people by saving cashes(cash) spend on purchasing books.
Another essential reason involves the decreased interest in reading books and the increased interest in spending time using other medias(mediums). Poll after poll shows that people are more likely to watch TV programs or travel(surfer) online rather than read books in their spare time for the reasons that books are less vivid and attractive than those mediums that can provide video and sound and interaction between people and the mediums.
In addition, books made of paper hold undeniable drawbacks. On the one hand, consumers have to spend considerable money in buying the books they want. On the other hand, plenty of trees are cut down to supply the paper to publish books. It is not surprising that some environmentalists strongly oppose to(/) such paper books. With the growing awareness about protecting the environment, people are likely to give up buying published books.
To sum up, from my point of view, it goes without saying that the published books will disappare in the foreseeable future for the reason that such kind of books carries obvious disadvantages and some other mediums can bring people more convenience.
