今天写完没超时，但是字数还差点，又修改了一下。。。。

On making decisions, someone likes to follow other's suggestion, while I prefer deciding my own life by my reason and mind.

For one thing, I believe the ability of making decisions is an essential quality for a modern person. Compared with the ancient society, people in the modern time have more freedom and autonomy to decide his/her own affairs. For instance, the women, who live in a past dynasty of China, rarely had the right to choose who she could be married to. It depended on her parents’ will. Therefore, everyone in the modern society should seize his/her own freedom to decide his/her own life.

Furthermore, for the person who knows you best is not anyone other, but yourself, why should we give up the right of making decisions for ourselves? When you are trapped in some troubles, you need to think over the surrounding situations, and ask yourself what aim you indeed want to gain. These works definitely can not depend on others, even your parents and best friends, to do for you. It is your own business. Take myself for example; when I graduated from high school, I needed to decide which major and university I want to go. My father told me that I had grown up as a man, and it was time to decide my life by myself. Finally, I thought carefully about my interest and expectation, and chose to come to Beijing for a new life.

Admittedly, when one makes decision, it is necessary for him/her to turn to parents and friends for advice. It is easy to be wise at a distance. Sometimes, others’ suggestions do help us to know ourselves much better. Whereas, when it comes to the final decision, it is your obligation to decide.

From what has been discussed above, I absolutely believe that everyone can and should make the final decision for himself/herself.

楼主的结构和想法以及例证都是很不错的！
但是感觉字数不太够耶，给人有点不太有说服力的感觉。
另外，有些表达应该可以更加简洁一些，否则会感觉有点累赘
不过语言的功底也不是一朝一夕的的事啊，楼主也不用着急
