It has long been put into qualm in deciding whether it is better to let others make the decisions for us or to make the decisions by ourselves. Advocating making decision by oneself are those people who hold the belief that one should always be independent. However, in my point of view, people should let others to make the decision for them, when considering the old people's experience and the importance of the help from friends.
The first reason for my propensity to let other make the decision is that the old persons have relatively more valuable experiences. The old people, especially our family members like grandparents and parents, are more mature in dealing with problems. Thus, to let them make the crucial decisions can avoid making mistakes. Here is an example that can aptly demonstrate my viewpoint. I was once confused about choosing majors after I have been admitted to college. My father suggested that interest played a key role in making such decision and he persuaded me to choose Chemistry for the reason that I was always fasinated by the wanderful experiments. Now I am satisfied with this choice.
Another reason involves the significance of our friends' help and suggestions. Our friends, especially the peer friends, often understand us better than ourselves while it is always difficult for us to tell the personality of ourselves. An instance could illustrate this point clearly, once my sister Mary hesitated about whether she should participate in the English speech contest held by her school since she was not sure about her ability in speaking English. Her best friend Lucy encouraged her and signed her name on the regislation(registration) list for the reason that Lucy was so confident about my sister. In the end, my sister won the contest.
Admittedly, making decision by ourselves has undeniable advantage. As making decision is an important way to improve our independence as well as the ablity to deal with problems in a proper way, we have to make the improtant decision to practice this ability.  
To sum up, it is true that making decision by ourselves improves our independence, however, in my perspective, to let others make the decision obviously carries more weight.

It has long been put into qualm（觉得别扭,也没太理解第一句话到底啥意思） in deciding whether it is better to let others make the decisions for us or to make the decisions by ourselves. //Advocating（改成 people who prefer觉得稳妥，没见过advocating放句首这么用的） making decision by oneself are those people（这个people可以省略了吧） who hold the belief that one should always be independent. However, in my point of view, people should let others to make （let 后面的动词不是应该原型么？let others make）the decisions for them, when considering the old people's experience and the importance of the help from friends. //   ( //...//之间的话有点逻辑问题：你前面一句说拥护自己作决定的人是独立的人，下一句话变成你认为人们应该让别人帮忙作决定，等等等。这样就感觉前一句话没说完，应该还有一句就是拥护自己做决定的人是什么样的人，这样结构才完整。不过如果都写上好像第一段显得臃肿，所以我建议把前一句撤掉，换一个句子。)

可能是限时的原因，感觉匆匆结尾。我个人对这篇文章的建议是如果不熟悉的用法不要勉强使用，否则容易用错，让人confuse。第二个是大长句最好不要。句子不长不短，但是句式多变幻，使用灵活地道才是王道。另一个是大家还需要多多联系限时！
