It has long been put into qualm in deciding whether people today spend too much time on their enjoyment rather than what they should do. Some people disagree with such issue because they hold the belief that nowadays people has less leisure time than before. However, in my perspective, it is true that people pay too much time on the things they like to do for enjoyment, when considering the various kinds of entertainments in the modern society and the loss of life's goal.
The first reason for my opinion is that with the fast development of today's technology and science, there are plenty of ways of(for) amusment that attract people to spend their time. The new technologies are so wanderful that many people just cannot help but play with such attractive things. Our daily life is replete with examples, with the help of computer, people could spend time chatting online, watching movies and listening to CDs. With the help of TV, people could watch the amusing programs for hours. With the help of cell phone, people could use their office time chatting with friends. All of these exactly demonstrate that people have payed(paid) too much time on enjoyment.  
Another essential aspect why I believe people do not concentrate on the things they should do is that the modern people, especially the youngth(youth), are losing theirselves(themselves) in finding their personal value. As everone would agree, in such a consumerate(consumption) society, the first goal of life for everyone should always be to earn money. Money has become the ultmate aim for many people, as a result, after they have finished the office hours that are related to their salary, they might spend all the time playing. The meanful(meaningful) things such as improve their professional skill by taking training lessons or enhance the knowledge by reading books are not in their schedule.
To sum up, it goes without saying that people are now spending much more time in playing than in doing the right things not only because many of them have lost theirselves in the comsumerate society, but also because they are fascinated by diverse entertainments.
