A company is going to give some money either to support the arts or to protect the environment. Which do you think the company should choose? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

To support the arts or protect the environment? If you are asked to vote for one of these two subjects for the money to be sponsored, which one will be your superiority? In my perspective, although I admit that the arts is sort of importance, I will vote for the latter one without any hesitation.

Firstly and most importantly, we are now in a serious scenario of environmental deterioration. As the science and technology develop at a fast-growing speed, it is not seldom for us to be reported about such events like loss of virgin forests and over-discharging of greenhouse gases and poisonous chemical materials. As a result, the environment respond her dissatisfaction by means of global warming, increase of violent weather and what’s worse, a large-scale areas of pollution which have already extend to the polar district. Thus, measures must be taken to change this deterioration situation. If given financial support, there will be more environmental experts and research get involved in the preservation career, and solutions will be worked out.

Another reason is the consideration of future generations. Not only is the environment the home of existing human being, but also that of the future ones. If we continue taking it for granted that we can deteriorate the environment and have no necessity to pay for it, the later generations, the extension of human being species and the heir of our culture, may suffer from the loss of their homeland. In this matter, it is reasonable and even inevitable for us to spend money on the environmental preservation actions.

It is true that the arts is not an unimportant part of our culture and should not be ignored all the time, but we never hear that the arts is suffering such thing as extinction or deterioration. Oppositely, the arts is surviving or even thriving in modern society in which people have a better living quality and focus more and more on the arts.

All in all, I will choose the environmental protection as the money-supporting priority without any hesitation for its urgent need.
