Undoubtedly, most people got a job, through which they earn their living. However, when it comes to the question what are some other reasons for wok; divergent people have divergent opinions due to their distinct background and experiences. As far as I am concerned, the reasons are numerous, chief among which are character-building, acquiring sense of achievement and polishing social skills.

First and foremost, work is a character-building medium. Just like the bible saying that you would never learn to be patient and brave if there were only joy in the word. Work, being full of obstacles, challenges and competitions, provide golden chance for people to improve themselves and cultivate good personalities. Actually, patience and bravery is far beyond all of those good personalities. Since those tremendous challenges, you will realize how persistence, cooperation spirit and being obliging can help us to conquer the following handicaps in our lifetime.


Subsequently, sense of achievement is another one. After conquering the previous impossible mission in work, not only will you learn to be persistence or patient, you will also obtain sense of achievement. My personal example can shed some light on this point. When I worked in an electronic company as an engineer, I got a terrible score in a qualification test. After pouring all my passion on another preparation, I passed, which not only surprised my manager, but also conveyed me sense of achievement.


In addition, except for character-building and sense of achievement, to polish social abilities can also support the importance of work. As a member of this multicultural and globalized world, knowing how to communicate with different kinds of people is important yet not easy. While the work field rightly provide you with a perfect circumstance to cultivate these skills. In work process, you have to cope with the relationships with your peers, guarantee cooperation with your colleagues in your team, and at the same time; make a close tie with your manager. All of these are definitely not an easy task, especially for our new graduates who have no accessibilities to these skills in campus, and these initial handicaps are the best material to strengthen our social abilities.

In a nutshell, besides the money, work, by building good personalities, strengthening our social skills as well as conveying the sense of achievement, plays an indispensable role in our modern society.
