48) People work because they need money to live. What are some other reasons that people work? Discuss one or more of these reasons. Use specific examples and details to support your answer.


People work not just for the money, sometimes for people’s own status, sometime for the common social communication, I my own experience I saw my neighborhood and my parents, I state my reasons below.

First, people work for their own status and confidents, just like my father, who was governments officer before him retire, and after he retire, when he had a rest for about two months, he get a job from his friends, I have ask he for why? He is always dream to have a leisure life when he was a government officer, and he told me, without work, he is hard to find his own value and own status, and he is not care about the money he earn, just to devote his energy.

In so many NGO we can see the volunteer join the work, and free of charge. In such condition they just devote theirself into the work. Not for the money, but for their relief. In 2008 beijing Olympic games. We have thousands of volunteers who are hard-working in the games. They were free of charge, just for the Olympic games relief ”one world, one dream”, and help the visitors all around china, all around the world.

And about the common social communication is one of the reasons why people work. People always talk the same topic have the deepen relationship. And common communication is one of the people’s normal demand, and work can afford it, you can talk with people with the working condition, or the progress, and in rest, you can chat with colleagues.

All the reasons I have said above, money is the most important reason why people work, support one’s basic need is the most important thing, and fit some other social demand, is some other reasons why people work.

And the common/daily,general social communication is one of the reasons why people work. People deepen their relationship through talking about topics they are all interested in. And common communication is one of the people’s norma/essential demand which could be provided by work, you can talk with people in the working space, or the progress/不懂想表达什么, and in rest/spare time, you can chat with colleagues.

All the reasons I have said above, money is the most important reason why people work/这点你并没有表达出来, support one’s basic need is the most important thing, and fit some other social demand, is some other reasons why people work.
