130"How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."  
  
  The speaker’s claim is actually twofold: (1) the children’s socialization is the most importantly determinate factor in our society’s destiny. (2) a better society would appear when we learn well how to raise children, while now we have no clear idea and efficient methods when it comes to how to raise children . I disapprove with the author’s claim. To some extent, the author overemphasized the importance of children’s socialization to the society’s advancement. On the other hand, the education systems children received are not as bad as the author holds.

     Documenting the children’s socialization would be superfluous, it is almost axiomatic that the socialization plays an extremely important roles in children’s present and future life, which will put them in a favorable position for their future job market and everyday life. We should have a clear attitude toward children’s socialization, at home and at school, children’s socialization is a vital path to the promotion in children’s moral, value, interpersonal skills development,  at the same time, contributing to the development of pupils’ sense of identity though knowledge and understanding of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural heritages.

   It must be admitted that, given the undeniable importance of children’s socialization to society’s future development , however, it is only one of the most importantly determinate factor in our society’s destiny, while other considerable amounts of factors  such as the level of scientific and technological development, innovation in human endeavor , the economic advancement   , should also be taken into consideration when it comes to the destiny of our society，these are my first contention with author. Merely undue emphasizing on the importance of children’s socialization while ignoring these factors exerting significant influence on the destiny of society might be counterproductive or detrimental to our society.  Given the extreme assumption that in the future all the children have developed a very good interpersonal skills, a strong value system, a ethical standard, a set of ideas  and sharpened all-around knowledge and understanding to cope with complex issues  in his growing process contributing significantly to the stability and harmony of our world, while they maintain some fuzzy attitudes about how to make innovation in their own career, having trouble in putting rote knowledge from classes and teachers to flexibly and accurately use in real-work world, which all these in their live may block society’s advancement since despite the positive attitude to realize their commitments to the virtues of truth, trust, and a strong sense of duty , they have little ability to make innovation but to follow predecessors.

     Education systems in contemporary society all around the world are not as terrible as the author claim.  Indeed,there are some serious problems relating to children’s education whether from potential or surface aspect, it by no means that  education in today’s world would become a debacle to society’s advance as the author asserts. In fact, along with the rapid science and technology development, pupils in growing number are beginning to realize the fact that one’s education perform a enormous function in his way to attach success in his or her career and everyday life, and as a result, more and more teachers , parents, the media and public regard the education as something to embrace, support and celebrate, a considerable amounts of attention beening paid to the education system about how to nurture children-who are the crucial hope of our society’s destiny , resulting in the education prosperity. Most of all, young people develop a better sense to relish the opportunities for discovery and achievement that the education offers. Maybe there will be a long way to attach the society which we express a strong desire for, yet with the positive efforts and intense attention from all over the world , the education systems in the world will  eventually become perfect , not only building children’s strength, interests and experiences and developing their confidence in their capability to learn and work independently and collaboratively, but also developing and applying a broad range of knowledge , understanding and skills, equip them with the ability to  think creatively and critically to solve problems and to make a difference for better by providing rich and varied context for people to acquire.
   
    In the last analysis, I agree with the author broader assertion that the children’s socialization is one of the most important factor to our society’s destiny , but it is not the only factor since a various other factors should paid attention to . The author unfairly asserts that human in today’s world have no clear and efficient idea and methods to how to raise a child successfully, which completely denied the feasibility and fruits brought by contemporary education system .
