It is said that education is an art, that is the reason why there are specific school designed to teach teaching tactics. Someone thinks having a strong expertise is the most importance part. However, as far as I am concerned, knowing how to relate with students is favorable.

To begin with, it is natural to find some difference on students, such as the ability to receive a new concept, communication skills, and manual dexterity. As a teacher, if one can not recognize this fact, taking the same criteria to all students, the result would not be satisfying. We can not ask a kid who is interested in arts to waste the time on numerous calculations; likewise, we can not expect a sports talent having any achievement in a chemistry lab. The ultimate goal of education is to make every student find their interest and live their best; school is not a factory, constantly producing boxes of some products, it should be a paradise for learning.

In the second place, people tend to learn things better, things related to other familiar ones. A study made by Professor George, a psychologist in Cornell University, indicates that the group of learners, who are taught some new concepts with vivid daily examples, images and sound, learn faster and retain longer compared with another group, whose members just are required to learn these abstract concepts. Therefore, trying to relate with what students are learning is a useful way to stimulate learning interest and enhance learning efficiency.

Admittedly, a strong academic knowledge is necessary for a teacher since he or she is the person who tell students subjects at the first time. Nevertheless, it is the ability to relate well with students that decides the success of education. A learner with high academic background is not difficult to find in campus, but a good teacher is another thing, who needs more wisdom and strategies.

In brief, knowing a subject well can not make sure a good teaching, taking the relationship with students into consideration is the key for a good teacher.
