The ever-accelerated updating of sciences and technology has brought about a great number of changes in our lives. The computer, one of the most fascinating inventions in the twentieth century, has introduced us to the information era. It offers us the access to the Internet, enabling us to enjoy greater availability and wider range of information. Yet in the mean time, controversy has arisen on whether or not Internet may lead to some problems. This point of view, as far as I am concerned, is overly simplistic.

In the first place, the internet is far more efficient and convenient than the conventional means of conveying information. Before the appearance of the Internet, people had to go to libraries or find the materials they required for their study. They have to check numerous book shelves, and all too often, their targets are either missed or unavailable. Even luckily find the book, the content may be outdated or less relevant. Now advanced Internet has set us free from such dilemma. We can almost get any material we want by simply typing some key words and clicking search buttons.

In addition, Internet allows us to exchange information interactively and condusively because it makes instant feedback possible. For instance, once you are puzzled by an unsolved problem, you can post a notice on BBS for help. In a short time, there will be a host of people giving their replies and airing their ideas. You will definitely obtain the some valuable help .

Admittedly, there still exist some problems when using the Internet. For example, gazing at the cold flickering screen for a long time may impair one's physical health. More specifically , our eyesight will deteriorate and the radiation due to the screen may exert some extent of undesirable influence to our body. Nevertheless, if we pay attention to the usage of computers, such negative effects can be avoided. For instance, relaxation should be required after one or two hours of exposure to the computer screen.

In conclusion, the Internet has undergone noticeable development; it has exerted a far-reaching impact on how people attain information, and so far, in right way.
