Some people use Internet a lot to gain information, while others think using it will lead to problems, Do you agree or disagree（2006 年3 月25 日）

Internet, which deserved the best innovation in the last century, has pervaded into nearly every aspect of our life. While we are enjoying the facility and convenience brought by the Internet, some argument focus on its drawbacks and potential negative influence arise. As far as I am concerned, the advantages of the Internet overweight its disadvantages.

The most significant change the Internet has brought us is the way we get information. In the past, we mainly attain useful knowledge and information through newspaper and books. All too often, locating certain information take large amount of time that could have been spend in our study and works. Nowadays, using search engines such as google and yahoo, such works which used to be tedious and tiring has become pretty easy. Besides, since the Internet contains vast information in almost every kinds of field, the era of searching from one library to another have already became the has-been.

As a matter of fact, Internet helped to solve problems in numerous fields and directions. As individual we use it to handle personal affairs which used to be annoying and disturbing: we use it to check email from our boss or workmates, we communicate with friends and family members through it. Major companies utilize it to open global market: their worldwide commerce is largely depend on the Internet, they hold global meetings by Internet, even their works are divided into separate parts and then done by people linked by Internet. All in all, Internet facilitate our world and emancipate us from numerous problems.

Admittedly, there are many problems accompanied with the Internet, such as concerns of communication safety and Internet addiction problems, but all of these problems can be solved by further advance of technology and regulation from government and other directions. Moreover, some of the problems exist for a long time even before the invention of the Internet, for example, the reliability of the information already been question for centuries since the the first newspaper was taking place. Internet only serve as a replacement of the materials that convey information. Therefore, to judge Internet as the cause of all this phenomenon seems quite unreasonable.

In sum, if people consider the Internet comprehensively and thoroughly, they will find that in general, Internet brings more benefit rather than problems to us.
