你是否赞成这样的观点：People will spend less time in cooking or preparing food in twenty years.（07.11.24）

Meal is always the indispensable part of family life. However, it also takes a considerable time for us to prepare and to cook. From my perspective, I believe that people will spend less time in these parts, and my reasons are as following.

People will allocate less time in household works because they actually have less time for meal. Breakfast is often bread and milk which are purchased in the supermarket. Lunch is always eated with coworkers in company or school cafeteria. Evening, the only chance to cook a meal, is abundant with meetings or parties or other social activities.Therefore, people indeed have less chance to spend time in home, needless to say spending time in preparing or cooking meals. In other words, people have less chance to spend time in cooking.

The change in social status between man and woman also contribute to this phenomenon. Man has longed been reluctant to involve in this part of family life, and with increasing pressure and fatigue come from daily work, they show even less enthusiasm to participate in household works. Woman used to be regarded as the family member who is in charge of cooking and preparing food. However, they are no longer merely content to be housewife in current society. They are eager to join in the work market and earn money which obviously distract them from family life. Therefore, there is actually less time and energy for both side to do household works.

Besides the decrease of allocable time for every individual, this trend may result from the improvement of efficiency from public service. Today the supermarket almost provide all materials that are needed to cook a meal. Therefore, people can save a lot of time in choosing and selecting. And the vegetables sold in the market are often washed , the pork and beef are always chipped into pieces in advance. All too often, they even supply gradient to the materials. All these facilities offered by supermarket obviously help us preparing and cooking much more easily.

In sum, household works will become less time-consuming because people have less time and chance to do household works, and on the other hand, supermarket helps people in preparing food materials.
