Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In university, students should take the history courses no matter what field they study in.

It is a prevailing phenomenon that in university, students in historic classes are always busying in doing other things, such as reading other subjects or even reading fictions, rather than listen earnestly to the teachers. This situation exposed that students always put the history in a low state when compared to the major or the entertainment. However, it is really a heavy lose to those students, because studying history will benefit them in several aspects, no matter what major they are in.

Primarily, it is well known that every thing in current society is the result of the accumulation of numerous yesterdays' experience. So, if we want to have a good mastery of today's work, we must how it evolve from the history. In another word, a better understanding of the previous processes leads a better comprehension of contemporary situation. For example, as the new generation of leader of China, the chairman Deng, contributed a lot to China, including the Reform and Open Policy, and the idea of "the technology and the education is the first mission of China". However, all of these, were based on the careful observation of the history development of China, including the right or wrong aspects, giving him the inspiration of how to finish the risk successfully.

Additionally, the most direct explanation of the advantages of history for the students in other fields is that even the most advanced technology or the most creative invention is on the foundation of the scientific ancestors' achievement, whatever in the field of biology or in computer industry. For instance, from the basic study of the animal to the embryo cultivation of new baby, every step is the further advancement on the step before in. So, if a biology student want to discover or create something, he must know what has been done by the precursors.

What is more, maybe the most essential reason that the university arrange the history is that it is the obligation of a qualified citizen to remember the history of the country. To behave , to work and to live with the national pride in mind, it is helpful and very essential to the nation consolidation,

In conclusion, no matter how boring or meaningless the history you think, you absolutely can not deny the interest you will attain if you learn it by your heart. You want to win today, at at first you should know how people won yesterday.
