As we all know, there are is an increasing number of subjects of different kinds in universities, including science, engineering, arts, music (音乐难道不是arts咩? 除非你用art才特指视觉艺术) and so on. Most of students choose the majors that they are interested in or that would help them get a good jobs easily. However, no matter what major we study in, we should take the history class as a compulsory course.
First of all, the knowledge of history could affect every aspect of every person (貌似有些夸大..) in this society. History is a mirror from which not only could we see what we look like now, but also we could see what we will be like in the future. Through summarizing experiences from our ancestors (以下同此处..), we could prevent ourselves from making the same mistakes that our ancients made. At the same time, by learning the specious (? 这可不是个好词,你想用的应该是special吧..) skills of our predecessors in history that they left behind for us, we could reach our attainments (你不能reach attainment,你只能gain attainment. Attainment is something you either 'have' or 'don't have'.) more quickly and easily. Moreover, most of the wise emperors in Chinese history knew about the importance of history, so every time before they were going to make a decision, they would look back on the approximate (Wrong word. Should be 'similar'. 'Approximate' means to be physically or numerically close.) events in order to make sure that the decision would not follow the old road to ruin. Consequently, under the rule of these emperors, the country were usually in a periods of prosperity. (This is well said, but we are talking about history lessons in universities here..where does that stand in this paragraph?
In addition, learning history would make our studies (of other subjects?) life easily and effectively. Almost all of the students bear a heavy burdens because of plenty courses and enumerable (This is right opposite to what I think you want to express. The word should be 'numerous'.) papers and exams, especially for the students who study science subjects. Therefore, if they take a course related to the arts, such as history, it would definitely be a good flavoring after the dull and boring science courses. (Err.. What’s more, many history stories are so funny that sometimes we could even forget the unpleasant and discomfort things in reality . According to a survey made in the top 50 universities in China, the students who take the history as their compulsory or elective course got a 7.8 higher grade (美国人不用百分制而用字母,A+, B, B-, 然后转换成5分制的累积平均分 - 俺的意思是通常他们对任何数字大于5的成绩都没有什么认知..) in science courses on average than those who do not have to take it.
As a result, each university should take a serious (what?) into consideration that every students are should be required supposed to study history.
