Life is a type of choice, which is also filled with all kinds of choices, such as schools, universities, jobs, lovers and so on. I believe that in most situations we have choices to determine as the author assert. However, there is indeed something we cannot choose, and what we would have to do is to accept and to change what we can change.

Admittedly, with the development of technology and business, we have much more choices than ever before. The increasing productivity creats more and more food, clothes, cars, etc. for us to consume. After the Industrial Revolution, material resources have been increasing at an enormous speed, which provides more choices, that which flavor of food we like, which kind of clothes we love to dress and which brand of cars we prefer to drive. Furthermore, spiritual resources, such as books, videos, and so on, are also more abundant. We have an easy access to make them available with the help of advanced telecommunication system, or Internet. In a word, without the limitation of amount and catagory, we are more powerful and free to make our own choices.

However, it is also true that there exist some situations in which we have no choice. Firstly, we are born by our parents at a certain time and a certain place. We are unable to choose who should become our parents and the genes and characteristics given by them. We could not choose which kinds of family we are born, the rich or the poor, the black or the white, the healthy or disabled. It is sort of uncertainty and full of possibilities, which is the beginning of our life--you are on your own and special. Besides, there are other situations we could not choose what we really like with the limitation of laws or ethical standards. For example, assuming that you are a public official, who gets full trust of its people, when there are conflicts between the interests of the public and those of yourself, you have to make a significant decision. Without doubt, considering your position, your only choice is to sacrifice your own interests to protect those of the masses. That is to say, sometimes, choices are limited by the moral and ethical standards, which undermine the freedom to make a favorite choice.

In addition, I emphasize that sometimes when you are trapped in a narrow mind and vision you have no perspective to find choices, which actually are in your hands. When you find no choice available, please check it whether you are not intellectual and wise enough to discover them. As a famous saying goes, anything is possible. As long as we try out best to discover with optimistic and passionate mind, the result probably ends up with success rather than dilemma. Imagining that there is a broad river lying before your eyes and blocking your way, you might be disappointed because of your failure to go across it. Remember, before trying you have no right to say "failure". You can swim across it, or you can drive on a boat, or even you can construct a small bridge. Do not lose your encourage and braveness and keep trying, you will finds lots of surprising roads and choices in front of you.

In summary, to some extent, the significant of choice you make is more powerful and important than that of your efforts. Which choices you make and how you make might determine your future destiny. As a result, we must learn to how to make our own choice at present with broad and long-term run.
