12.23日作业 大学往往让学生通过TEAM WORK完成PROJECT,然后给TEAM MEMBER打上同样的分数,你觉得这样好吗? Generally, universities always advocate students doing projects in the form of teamwork, and then mark every member the same score. While those proponents who support this idea say that it is fair to everyone, and at the same time will encourage them to cooperate more compactly; as far as I am concerned, since each member in same group always pay out different efforts, marking them equally is not only unfair to them but also will hurt the whole team spirit.
Firstly, there is a phenomenon called "ride others", which means that the one who contribute few to the group can also equally share the same honor with other members. And in most cases, it is just some few figures play the major roles in the group contributing crucially to the final success. So marking equally is not fair to those key people. What’s more? Not everyone’s statue in the group is the same. A good team should have one or two leaders who take charge to the whole project’s scheme, while others pursue in different practical tasks, some of which are curtail and difficult, whereas others are easy and subordinate. Therefore, the structure of team already determined the different roles are played by different people, and of course, they should get different rewards.
On the other side, if everyone in the team, no matter what kind of jobs he or she did, gets the same mark as others, one’s team spirit and enthusiasm will be hurt, especially those persons who make much more efforts than others. As for me, a computer science student, once teacher disposed our team a computer program designing. I took the major responsibility of designing the center program such as arithmetic design, date-base operation, and structure building and so on; while others just deal with the code typing. Eventually, I get the same scores as other teammates, and even now, I still can clearly remember how badly I feel at that moment. Then I leaved our group, and never want to working with others again in my class.
Obviously, this kind of equally marking is not fair to each member of the same team, meanwhile, which will also damage the member’s activity. The best scientific and correct way is give individuals different rewards on the base of one’s efforts and contribution. |
