大学往往让学生通过TEAM WORK完成PROJECT,然后给TEAM MEMBER打上同样的分数,你觉得这样好吗?
There is a phenomenon that, in colleges, professors usually disposes a project to a team of students. After finishing the project, the professor mark a score for the team, and every member in the team will be obtained as same score. As far as this phenomenon is concerned there some issues should be discussed.
Firstly, disposing a project to a team of students and marked same for every one in team has many advantages. Through doing the project, students in a team will learn how to collaborate with each other and how to deal with each other. Although they will find the shortcomings and merits with each other though team works, mark them identical will encourage they work as a whole. For my experience, I have attended a team to do a project that preparing a party in our university. There are 10 members in our team, everyone doing different works, some one buy goods, some one clean the halls, some work fast, some one work slowly. After the party, we are tired, but we feel happy because we have learned collaboration and unquit. We fell integrated that the director of the department mark a high score for every one of us because we are working as a whole team, even though not everyone contribute to the work equal.
Secondly, on the other hand, marking score same for every one in a team are adverse to students, some times. Because student in the team have different IQ, personality and ability, the contributions to a project usually varies. If every one is obtained a same score, the students who have higher ability and have more contributions to the work will be hurt. They will feel unequal and lost enthusiasm to do the next project. For example, a professor proposes a research project about environmental pollution to a team of students. It’s obvious that not every one are good at doing this research work, some students are interesting in this topic and they will work hard to complete the project and contribute much, some other students are indifferent to this topic and they contribute little. How to mark the score for them if you are the professor? Evidently, we must depend on the workload: more contribution to the project, higher scores they will have, vice versa. If we mark same score to everyone, we will cause unequality.
In a word, some times we should mark identical to very member of team to value their work, and some times we should mark differently. In general, if the emphasis of the project is the whole team, identical scores should be given; and if the emphasis of project is individuals in the team, the scores would be marked by contributions. |
