With the problems, from both transportation and the environment, big soaring in recent years, government started to encourage people to use the public transportation, which effectively release the crowed roads as well as decrease the polluted sources coming from the vehicle. However, coming with this policy, more and more people claim that these public transportation should be free, so that they are more willing to use the public one instead of private automobiles. In my opinion, it is reasonable to charge for using the public transportation for several reasons.

The first thing need to be toke into account is the heavy burden of the government. Considering the large cost of constructing a good public transportation system, the government and the transpiration company may face seriously economic problem without earning from the public, which probably lead to the collapse of the whole public transporting system. If the entrepreneurs finding that they can not get profit from the public transportation, few of them would like to invest building this transportation system, not to mention to improve the transportation service. That is to say, being free to use the public transportation will eventually put the public system into a poor and dangerous situation.

If people are not required to pay for taking the bus or the subway, can you image what the condition of them will be like? Obviously, people will take theses public transporting without any worry, the charge aspect. As a result, the bus, subway, train or any other transportation will be full and crowed all the time. What worse, if the destination is not too far, previously, people will went there by foot, which also can save the money; but now, they will turn to choose taking the public automobiles, for it is free. It is a big waste of the previous transportation sources, and it may bring inconvenience to others who are in need to use them.

From what I am talking above, it is apparent to note that there will be many negative influences to the society because of the free of using public transportation. It will not only bring damage to the transportation itself, but also make people's life more uncomfortable. Therefore, I think people should pay to use the public transportation; after all, those tickets are always very cheap, comparing with the high cost of maintaining a good performance of personal vehicles.
