As our society is developing at a much higher speed than ever before, the movies and televisions have played a significant role in our daily lives. There are a large amount of movies and televisions be produced everyday and everywhere, and more and more people would like to choose wathcing them as their main relaxatian. There is no doubt that they have profound effect in our lives. In my opinion, I believe that they make more positive effects on young people than negative effects.

  Firstly, the movie and television are helpful in spread knowledge. As you can see, there are so many useful information and knowledge be contained in lots of movies and television programs, the range is from math to history, geology to literature, and so forth. The amount of knowledge a movie and television program can take is amazing. In addition, because of the high speed they can spread, they can immediately transfor useful knowledge all over the world. While our young people are watching them, we are not only be relaxed, we can learn large scale of things that we can never gain from our schools. Just see how wonderful work does the Discovery channel programs do in the past few years, there are numerous young people gain tremendous knowledge from them and benefit from them.

  Moreover, they are useful tools to connect the whole world. Different countries produce different movies, and these movies comtain their own culture, so through watching these movies, our young people can know about other culture in this worl without virtully go abroad.While learning those foreigh culture, our young people can learn how to be tolerate with other culture, which can help us to develop a worldwide view and is much helpful in our future lives.The same effects can be made by the television program as well. For example, the American movies have spread their thinking of value throughout the whole world, they did so well that made their culture are so well accepted by all the people.

  Even the movies and televisions have so many merits, but it can't be denied that they indeed have some negative effects on our young people. Because there are always some low quality movies and programs be made, and the violent and unhealthy factors in them set a bad example for our young people. For example, somebody may mimic the character in a movie and to learn how to smoke, or someone may be attracted by some funny programs and don't want to finish their task any more, such instances happen around us every day.

  In a word, I believe that movies and televisions can make much more positive effects on our young people as if we try our best to make more outstanding and meaningful movies and programs and eliminate those rubbish ones.
